Sea to Summit was founded by an Australian climber and adventurer who became frustrated by the lack of lightweight outdoor equipment in his native country in the 1980s. Soon after he started making his own equipment using an antiquated sewing machine, he was approached by an Australian mountaineer who needed equipment that would work in every altitude for a trip to climb Mt Everest.
Deriving its name from this successful expedition, Sea to Summit creates products that are nimble and light but can work in tough conditions. They are committed to researching and developing from the ground up and finessing new techniques, materials and production methods to deliver better performing outdoor products. Perfectionism is ingrained in their culture – they offer a lifetime warranty on their products against material defects and workmanship. A model against planned obsolescence, they can repair most of their products and are fully stocked with replacement parts.
The Sea to Summit pocket shower may be small, but it packs a serious punch. With a heat-resistant, waterproof fabric and roll top closure, this shower has a capacity of 10 liters or the equivalent of a seven minute shower. The base comes with a free-flowing rose that opens up to a full flow with a simple twist, and the whole device is supported by two tough D-rings with a lightweight six meter cord. We love its versatility as well – when not in use, it can also be used as a dry sack.
